I’ve been playing around with this little Google & AOL powered search toy that’s all Pat Green’d out, and I have to admit that getting so-called “swag” is kind of fun! I generally get about 2 swag points a day, which means that in about three more weeks, I’ll have enough swag to get a cup of coffee from Starbucks! WOO!!!!
August 13, 2008: Texas and/or Bust?
Soooooo, I’ve got some good news. And I’ve got some bad news. The good news is that I won tickets to the Red Dirt Roundup in Nacogdoches! Woot! I haven’t spent time in Nac in YEARS, and I would LOVE to spend a little time strolling around SFA and driving through the streets of a town that feels like home to me.
That was the good news.
The bad news is that the RDR is in a week and a half. And I just bought a car, which means I’ve got to pay sales tax on in by the end of the month. Soooo, do I suck it up, pay the horrendous cost of gas to chug down there for the weekend, and live like a pauper for the next month? Or do I save the money, give the tickets to someone down that way who can use them, and enjoy my comfortable little life up here in Missouri?

Gas prices
Short notice
17 hours on the road in 2 days
Sales tax is already costing me about $800
